CPU College of Business and Accountancy students and faculty pose for a group photo with Kasetsart Business School officials during their class immersion at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Seventy-two students of Central Philippine University’s (CPU) College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) took part in a class immersion in Supply Chain Management and Logistics at Kasetsart Business School (KBS) in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 4, 2026. The activity was held under the Kasetsart University (KU) BBA International Program. The students are taking up International Business and Trade. Their educational tour in Thailand ran from November 2 to 6 and included the immersion as its academic highlight.
The immersion comes after CPU renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kasetsart University, continuing the partnership between the two institutions.
The CPU delegation was led by CBA Dean Dr. Lorna T. Grande. She was joined by Dr. Carmen N. Hernandez, Department Head of Business Administration, and Dr. Christine B. Golilao, Department Head of Accountancy. The International Business and Trade teachers Dr. Hermely A. Jalando-on and Asst. Prof. Shedrick P. Layson also joined the group, together with CBA Secretary Stephen A. Yuson.
The program began at 9:00 AM with a video presentation introducing Kasetsart University and Kasetsart Business School. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suparerk Sooksmarn, Dean of Kasetsart Business School, then welcomed the guests. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waranpong Boonsiritomachai, Director of the KU BBA International Program, introduced the program and gave an overview of it. Dr. Grande presented CPU and the CBA and explained the purpose of the immersion. The two schools then exchanged tokens and posed for a group photo.
Dr. Jalando-on followed with a guest lecture titled “Important Aspects of Logistics in the Philippines,” after which students and the lecturer joined in a question-and-answer session. Asst. Prof. Dr. Sawat Wanarat of Kasetsart Business School then delivered a one-hour lecture on “Supply Chain Management and Logistics.” The session was held jointly with the regular class of Course 01133318-64, Section 445, so CPU students sat in the same class with their Thai counterparts. European students were also present in the lecture, making the session a truly international classroom. An open-floor discussion and closing remarks ended the program at noon.
A fellow Centralian, Joeffrey Gerochi, is a member of the Kasetsart University faculty. He helped facilitate the second visit of the CPU CBA faculty and students.
Beyond the classroom, the group visited the Investment Museum and the Coin Museum, which focus on financial literacy and the history of currency. They also observed retail outlets at Siam Premium Outlet, Platinum Mall, and Pratunam Mall, toured the Kasetsart campus with Thai students, and visited KU Milk. Other stops included Wat Arun, the Marble Temple, Icon Siam, Asiatique Bangkok, Nong Nooch Village in Pattaya, and the Pattaya Gems Factory.
