CPU and Iloilo City Government, through DOST Balik Scientist Dr. Jebie A. Balagosa, explore research collaboration with UP Visayas Balik Scientists to advance interdisciplinary research on environmentally safe and sustainable construction materials.
Central Philippine University (CPU) and Iloilo City Government (ICG), through its DOST Balik Scientist Dr. Jebie A. Balagosa, explored potential research collaboration with UP Visayas (UPV) Balik Scientists Dr. Sanny David Lumayno and Dr. Eric Zeus Rizo during a visit to the UPV hatchery facility.
Joining the discussion were Engr. Leonard King Jao of the UPV Regional Research Center–Materials Science and Nanotechnology (RRC-MSN) Laboratory, together with CPU research team members Engr. Chris Marwin Tuvilleja and Engr. Rose Marie Senapite.
A separate online meeting with UP Visayas Balik Scientist Dr. Christopher Caipang further explored opportunities for joint research initiatives focused on aquatic toxicity testing and sustainable construction materials.
A separate Zoom meeting was also conducted with UPV Balik Scientist Dr. Christopher Caipang to discuss additional opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaboration.
The engagements explored potential aquatic toxicity testing of waste-based construction materials, integrating expertise in geotechnical engineering, aquatic sciences, and environmental research. These initiatives seek to strengthen institutional partnerships, expand research capabilities, and support the development of environmentally safe and sustainable construction materials.
