PICE CPU-SC strengthens eco-park development in Guimaras through field-based engineering at Dagsa-an Eco Park, focusing on data validation and sustainable site planning for eco-tourism advancement.

On February 14, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Central Philippine University – Student Chapter (PICE CPU-SC) conducted a field-based outreach activity at Dagsa-an Eco Park in Buenavista, Guimaras, as part of its continuing efforts to apply civil engineering practice in real community development work. The activity focused on supporting sustainable tourism and environmentally guided site development through technical field validation and data gathering.

The outreach centered on the verification and validation of previously collected topographic survey data from the site. This activity aimed to ensure the accuracy and reliability of existing geospatial information, which is essential in developing a comprehensive and well-informed site development plan for Dagsa-an Eco Park. The updated data will serve as a key reference for future planning and design initiatives supporting eco-tourism development in the area.

The activity demonstrated the organization’s commitment to applying civil engineering principles in real-world settings. Through on-site validation and data gathering, members were able to strengthen their technical skills while contributing meaningful input for sustainable site planning and development.

The Dagsa-an Eco Park outreach shows the value of field-based engineering practice in supporting environmentally responsible development.
