Government agency representatives provided assistance to our first time jobseekers, faculty, and staff.
Central Philippine University through its Job Placement Office successfully organized a First-Time Jobseekers’ Assistance Helpdesk on March 24, 2026, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The activity aimed to support graduating students in preparing the necessary requirements for employment by bringing together under one roof different agencies for processing jobseekers’ pre-employment documents.
Several government agencies participated in the event, including the Philippine Army, Public Employment Service Office Iloilo City under its Assistance to Employment (ATE) Program, Department of Labor and Employment Region VI, Social Security System Iloilo, Philippine Statistics Authority Iloilo and PhilSys, Pag-IBIG Fund Iloilo, PhilHealth Iloilo, and National Bureau of Investigation–WEVRO.
These agencies provided on-site assistance not only to first-time jobseekers but also to members of the wider central community. Services included guidance on securing essential employment documents, accessing government programs, and providing employment opportunities.
The initiative supports the implementation and promotion of the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act under RA 11261, which allows first-time jobseekers to avail of free government-issued documents required for employment. Through this activity, the Job Placement Office aims to ensure that graduating students are informed, prepared, and able to benefit from the provisions of the law.
