Earlier this year, the DSWD–SLP provided a seed fund amounting to Six Hundred Thousand Pesos (₱600,000) to support the operations and development of the CPU–Arukahik Tailoring Shop and Training Center. The fund was utilized for the purchase of additional sewing machines, edging machines, training materials, and other equipment necessary to enhance the center’s production and training capabilities.
The dedication ceremony was officiated by Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church. During the program, Ms. Haidee B. Manato, Project Development Officer II, and Ms. Ma. Josefina C. Torre, Provincial Partnership Officer expressed their gratitude to Central Philippine University and the Arukahik SLP Association for their commitment to the program. They also highlighted the opportunities, benefits, and incentives that the association can enjoy as the livelihood project continues to grow and succeed.
In response, the members of the Arukahik SLP Association, led by Mrs. Judith A. Geroso, Officer-in-Charge of the Center, reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the livelihood program. They likewise conveyed their appreciation to DSWD–SLP and CPU for their continued support and assistance.
Indeed, the CPU–Arukahik Tailoring Shop and Training Center is one of the University’s significant social development initiatives aimed at poverty reduction, livelihood generation, women’s empowerment, social justice, and the promotion of successful public-private partnerships. Through its various programs and services, the center continues to create meaningful opportunities for community members while contributing to sustainable development. Moreover, this social development initiative has gained recognition from both local and national government agencies for its positive impact on community empowerment and economic development.
