Moving forward with its commitment to elevate labor leadership and workers’ welfare, four officers from the Central Philippine University Rank and File Labor Union (CPURAFLU-FFW) participated in the Trainers Training Module 3 (TTM3) seminar held at the Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites.

The union delegates included Leonance E. Cataluña, Ligaya Villarias-Caniel, Salvador P. Paparon III, and Wilna Claire Arañez.

The specialized training program was made possible through the joint partnership and sponsorship of the Danish Trade Union Development Agency (DTDA) and the Federation of Free Workers (FFW), one of the oldest national trade union centers in the Philippines.

The intensive module focused on advanced facilitation, institutional capacity-building, and designing effective educational tracks for labor union members. Building upon the foundational blocks of Modules 1 and 2 – which centered on safe workplaces, employee rights, and work-life balance – Module 3 shifts the focus to producing highly competent, independent trainers capable of cultivating the next generation of union leaders.

By sending its officers to this regional training seminar, CPURAFLU-FFW continues to build a solid pool of local labor educators. The skills gained at the event are expected to be brought back to the university campus to strengthen member orientation, enhance collective bargaining strategies, and promote proactive workplace dialogue.

The collaboration between the local university union, the national federation, and international partners like the DTDA highlights a shared, global vision of promoting the Decent Work Agenda and building robust, democratic trade union movements.
