Central Philippine University (CPU) National Service Training Program–Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) students participated in an online Lecture on Volunteerism on August 1, 2026.

The lecture was conducted virtually through Zoom Teleconference and Google Meet, with students attending sessions according to their assigned stub codes.

Serving as the resource speaker was Assoc. Prof. Kareen D. Lozada, Chairperson of the CPU Social Work Department, who discussed the significance of volunteerism in nation-building and community service. She highlighted the values of compassion, social responsibility, and active citizenship, encouraging students to become proactive contributors to their communities through meaningful volunteer work.

In her message, Assoc. Prof. Lozada underscored that volunteerism is a lifelong commitment to serving others with compassion, integrity, and a genuine desire to create positive change. She encouraged the students to embrace volunteer work as an opportunity to develop leadership, strengthen their sense of social responsibility, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

The activity aimed to deepen the students’ understanding of volunteerism as an essential component of the NSTP-CWTS program, emphasizing the role of volunteer service in addressing community needs and promoting sustainable development.

The online lecture forms part of CPU’s commitment to providing transformative learning experiences that develop socially responsible and service-oriented Centralians, preparing students to become active partners in community development and nation-building.
