The Central Philippine University National Service Training Program (CPU-NSTP) conducted a plenary session on Citizenship Training on July 4, 2026, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The activity opened with games, trivia, cheers and action facilitated by Mrs. Myla Cañas, followed by a short devotional, song response, and an opening prayer led by Ms. Chilou Batoon.

The program began with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Mrs. Shirley Dario. Ms. Charissa June Deocampo then introduced the resource speaker, Atty. Justin Francis Bionat, who delivered the lecture on Citizenship Training.

Participants listen attentively during the CPU-NSTP Citizenship Training plenary session.

During the lecture, Atty. Bionat discussed the roles and responsibilities of Filipino citizens in promoting good governance, active community participation, and nation-building. He encouraged students to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, patriotism, and public service as future leaders and responsible members of society.

An open forum followed the lecture, providing participants the opportunity to raise questions and engage in discussions on the topics presented.

To recognize his contribution to the program, CPU-NSTP Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Analie D. Gilongos, together with Mrs. Maleen Gahum and Ms. Deocampo, presented Atty. Bionat with a Certificate of Appreciation.

The activity continued with the NSTP Moves and announcements before concluding with the closing song, the singing of the CPU Alma Mater Song, and the closing prayer led by Ms. Deocampo. Ms. Chilou Batoon served as the master of ceremonies throughout the program.

The plenary session forms part of the CPU-NSTP’s continuing efforts to develop socially responsible, service-oriented, and civic-minded Centralians through values formation and citizenship education.
