CPU-MIDAS celebrates a “Gintong Ani” of talent and triumph as student excellence, creativity, and community take center stage in a vibrant culminating event.

The cultivation of student excellence and creativity rose to its peak during the CPU – MIDAS culminating event. Held at the MT AVR 1 & 2, the culminating event posited a sense of community, where students gathered to witness brilliance and wonder through a display of award recognized works by their alumni and fellow peers.

The event, spearheaded by CPU – MIDAS Event Coordinator, Allen James Dellosa, started at 9:00 AM to 11:40 AM. The morning program followed with an Ice Breaker, where students and teachers participated in a variety of lighthearted games. A recognition of teachers, achievements, and the collection of awards for student artists and leaders came after. This year, the culminating event honored student excellence by presenting major awards such as the Film Icon Award, Photography Award, Animator Icon Award, Graphic Designer Icon Award, and Visual Artist Icon Award to their respective winners. The morning program came to close, but the energy maintained and continued to brim as the afternoon program awaited.

The culminating event resumed at 2:30 PM with a Cosplaying Event, beginning with an introduction from its esteemed student host, and fellow cosplayer, Matthew Alexis Eucogco of BSDMIA – 1. An opening act preceded the main event by James Perez of BSDMIA – 1, stringing tunes of heartfelt melody that warmed and eased the crowd. Finally, fellow contestants Jody Rae Garlit (BSDMIA – 1), Alyanna Grace Doromal (BSDMIA – 1), and Arianna B. Atienza (BSDMIA – 1) strutted the runway, representing their cosplays with much confidence and undeniable swagger, as per the audience’s reaction. The cosplay event also welcomed fellow judges, and cosplay connoisseurs Leanel Bless Locson (BSDMIA – 2), Sasha Beatrice Demegillo (BSDMIA – 1), and Vince Lenard Suay (BSCHM – 2).

This event is a reminder that persistence and creativity fostered by leaders— teachers and fellow students alike—cultivate an environment rich in community and artistry, and this event’s theme “Gintong Ani” is a reflection of that.
