Speakers and organizers of the “Sharing of Professional Journeys” gather for a photo opportunity at the CPUGAD TBI Co-Working Space.
Central Philippine University (CPU) brought together students and distinguished alumni for the “Sharing of Professional Journeys,” a career orientation event held on September 29, 2026, as part of the Grand Alumni Homecoming 2026 celebration.
The event was jointly organized by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, and the Alumni Affairs Office. It was conducted in various rooms across the campus through parallel morning and afternoon sessions, providing students with opportunities to hear from alumni representing different academic disciplines and professional fields.
The morning session, held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., featured alumni speakers representing the College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences (CARES), College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), College of Computer Studies (CCS), College of Engineering (COE), College of Nursing (CON), College of Medicine (COM), and College of Pharmacy (COP).
Prof. Ruben Magan Gamala shares his professional journey to the students of the College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences (CARES) at the CPU Knowledge Development Center (CPU-KDC), Henry Luce III Library.
The speakers were Prof. Ruben Magan Gamala (BS Agriculture, 1980) for CARES; Ms. Ma. Josefa Magbanua-Sarate (BSC in Management Accounting, 2006) for CBA; Ms. Marie Ariessa Lane Ko (BS Information Technology, 2017) for CCS; Engr. JC Palmes (BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, 2004) for COE; Ms. Charity Yanson Perea (BS Nursing, 1979) for CON; Dr. Don G. Garcia (Doctor of Medicine, 2015) for COM; and Ms. Krizn Janica C. Tacaisan (BS Pharmacy, 2020) for COP.
The afternoon session, held from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., featured speakers from the College of Hospitality and Management (CHM), College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS), College of Theology (COT), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Education (COED), Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS).
The afternoon speakers were Ms. Mae Anne Manipud Lim (BS Tourism Management, 2008) for CHM; Dr. Jose Denzil D. Daquiado (BS Medical Technology, 1983) for CMLS; Rev. Martha Mae E. Luces (Bachelor of Theology, 1983) for COT; Dr. Elaine A. Logronio-Monserate (BS Agriculture, 2000; BA English, 2011) for CAS; Mr. Noel M. Tubongbanua (BS Education, 1989) for COED; Atty. Larry H. Pestaño (JHS, 2011) for JHS; and Mr. Tom Lin Deocampo Jr. (SHS-STEM, 2019) for SHS.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to learn from the academic and professional experiences of CPU alumni while gaining insights into various career paths represented by the university’s diverse academic programs.
