Pharmacy students, together with University officials, College of Pharmacy faculty, and guest speakers, pose for a group photo after the 13th Pinning and 10th White Coat Ceremony.

With the theme, “Eunoia: Sown with Goodwill, Nurtured by Knowledge, Blossoming into Empowered Future Pharmacists Delivering Purposeful and Transformative Care,” the Central Philippine University – College of Pharmacy (COP) held its 13th Pinning and 10th White Coat Ceremony on July 22, 2026, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The ceremony commenced with an invocation led by Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church, followed by the opening remarks of COP Dean, Xenia Louise Joy B. Assin.

Representing University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Merle L. Junsay delivered a special message centered on three guiding values: commitment, mindfulness, and integrity.

“As you start to wear your pin today, may you always remember to be part of the solution,  not part of the problem,” Junsay said, echoing a quote from her favorite journalist, “Ang ating lipunan ay may malubhang sakit. Malalim, hindi nagagamot.”

Young Pharmacists Group (YPG) Iloilo – Guimaras Chapter Representative Ms. Sheila Macawili, RPh, reminded the students that the white coat is not yet the harvest but only the beginning of a much greater season.

Serving as the keynote speaker, Prof. Nelson T. Tubon of the University of Santo Tomas and Treasurer of the Philippine Pharmacists Association motivated students to pursue excellence in their profession.

“To become successful, know what you are doing, love what you are doing, and believe in what you are doing,” Tubon emphasized.

The pinning and white coat ceremony proper followed, together with the oath-taking of the pharmacy students, led by Ms. Sheila Macawili. Keann Arvyxz F. Garcesa, the Chairperson of the Pinning and White Coat Committee, delivered the batch response. 126 students of Batch Eunoia officially received their pins and donned their white coats.

The students then performed their batch song, “Padayon (Panibagong Simula), before the ceremony concluded with the benediction led by Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian and the closing remarks delivered by COP faculty member, Ma. Jean Amistas.

The event formally ended with the singing of the Pharmacy Hymn and Central Philippine University Alma Mater Song.
