Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) and Special Needs Education (SNED) students of Central Philippine University–College of Education (CPU-COEd) conducted a seminar-workshop titled “Empowering Movement: Innovations in Adapted Physical Education” on October 17, 2026, at the Conference Room of the Educational Media Center (EMC).

The seminar-workshop aimed to promote inclusive participation in physical activities, enhance understanding of adaptive teaching strategies for learners with diverse needs, and encourage lifelong wellness through healthy habits that foster independence, active living, and holistic development.

The activity was organized for students enrolled in BPED 4125 (Adapted Physical Education) and SNED 3111 (Adapted Physical Education, Recreation, Music and Health). It also provided an opportunity for Physical Education faculty members and other interested individuals to deepen their knowledge of inclusive and adapted physical education.

The highlight of the seminar-workshop was the session led by Prof. Wilmer L. Tiezo, the resource speaker, who shared valuable insights and innovative approaches to adapted physical education. His discussion emphasized the importance of creating inclusive, accessible, and meaningful physical activity experiences that address the diverse abilities and needs of learners.

The seminar-workshop concluded with the awarding of certificates and closing remarks delivered by Dr. Necil C. Magno, Officer-in-Charge of the Health and Physical Education Department, followed by a group photo.

Through this initiative, CPU-COEd reaffirmed its commitment to preparing future educators with the knowledge, skills, and inclusive mindset necessary to ensure that every learner has the opportunity to participate, move, learn, and thrive through physical education.
