The CPU Communication Circle successfully concluded the second implementation of its #TechTalkChallenge Workshop. Held at the Newsite Gymnasium of Barangay Bito-on, Jaro last May 15, 2026, the impactful community initiative was organized in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council of Barangay Bito-on and the CPU English Language Society.
The workshop featured four comprehensive sessions designed to foster digital literacy, critical thinking, and media awareness. It began with a pre-test to gauge the audience’s baseline knowledge. Facilitators then led a practical discussion covering email and password creation, social media navigation, and crucial safety tips on identifying scam messages, clickbait, and fake news. The second session was about Artificial Intelligence (AI) through an interactive game. Using placards, participants eagerly cheer “AINako!” (negative use) or “AIyos!” (positive use) to classify various real-world applications of AI. Following a quick snack break hosted by the SK Council, energy levels remained high for a satirical, paradoxical pageant. Selected contestants competed for the crown by intentionally presenting “fake news,” challenging the rest of the audience to put their debunking skills to the test. The final session provided practical, everyday tech skills, teaching attendees how to seamlessly book rides, deliver packages, and safely buy or sell products online.
Moving beyond traditional seminars, the #TechTalkChallenge workshop utilized an intergenerational approach, pairing one youth with one adult or guardian. Despite having an overwhelming turnout that exceeded the organization’s initial targets, the facilitators adapted smoothly, accommodating all attendees. With over ten dynamic pairs participating, the event solidified the CPU Communication Circle’s commitment to community service, digital safety, and professional excellence.
