CPU-CHM Celaire Airways secured 1st Runner-Up among 12 finalists in the COHREP Panay Flight Attendant Showmanship Competition 2026 held at Robinsons Place Iloilo on March 28, 2026.
Students from the Dr. Lucio C. Tan College of Hospitality Management of Central Philippine University once again demonstrated their excellence on the regional stage as their official team, Celaire Airways, earned 1st Runner-Up honors among 12 finalists in the COHREP Panay Flight Attendant Showmanship Competition 2026. Organized by the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP) – Panay Chapter, the competition was held at Robinsons Place Iloilo on March 28, 2026, gathering the region’s top hospitality and tourism institutions.
Inspired by the words “Ciel” (sky) and “Clair/Claire” (clear, bright, and luminous), Celaire Airways embodied grace, professionalism, and brilliance throughout their performance. The team delivered a refined and engaging in-flight safety demonstration, confidently executing essential procedures such as seatbelt fastening, oxygen mask usage, life vest application, emergency exit protocols, and safety information presentation with precision and composure.
What elevated their performance beyond technical mastery was its meaningful narrative. The team thoughtfully integrated the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal on Gender Equality, emphasizing inclusivity, diversity, and equal representation within the aviation industry. This added dimension transformed their presentation into a purposeful showcase that resonated beyond the competition stage.
The achievement was made possible through the team’s strong synergy, discipline, and attention to detail. Each member contributed to a cohesive and polished presentation, while the flight purser effectively guided the demonstration with clarity, authority, and professionalism—reflecting real-world airline standards.
Behind this success is the steadfast mentorship of Mr. Denie Erwin Tan, whose guidance and commitment to excellence played a vital role in sharpening the students’ skills and confidence. His leadership continues to exemplify the university’s dedication to producing globally competitive hospitality professionals.
Amid a highly competitive field of 12 finalists from institutions across Western Visayas, Celaire Airways stood out as a symbol of Central Philippine University’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and leadership in tourism and hospitality education.
More than a podium finish, this recognition marks a proud moment for the Centralian community—highlighting the talent, dedication, and global readiness of its students as future leaders in the aviation and hospitality industry.
