CPU announces class adjustments, road closures during 2026 Bar Exams

CPU will serve as a Local Testing Center for the 2026 Bar Examinations for the fourth time, hosting examinees on September 6, 9, and 13.

Central Philippine University (CPU) will implement adjustments to class delivery, campus access, and traffic flow as it hosts the 2026 Bar Examinations on September 6, 9, and 13.

The University is one of 15 Local Testing Centers (LTCs) nationwide designated by the Supreme Court’s Office of the 2026 Bar Examinations Chairperson. It will serve as a Bar testing center for the fourth time, following its hosting of the #GetThatBar2022, #BarNiJLo2024, and #AMYingForExcellence.

A total of 13,441 examinees registered for the 2026 Bar Examinations, a figure comparable to the 13,193 registered examinees in 2025.

At CPU, a road closure will be implemented along Lopez Jaena Street, particularly the portion from the entrance/exit of Miramar Subdivision to Cabangbang Street, during designated periods on the examination dates. A portion from Iloilo Coliseum to Cabangbang Street will also be closed on September 13.

The University has likewise announced temporary changes in the delivery of classes and campus access through the OVPA Memo No. 21, entitled “Mode of Instruction During the Hosting of the 2026 Bar Exams and Schedule of Opening and Closing of Gates.”

For Senior High School, face-to-face classes will not be held from September 3 to 15. Online synchronous classes will be conducted on September 14 and 15, with face-to-face classes resuming on September 16.

For Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High School, College, and Graduate Studies, classes will be conducted online synchronously on September 4-6, 8, 12, and 13, while face-to-face classes will be held on September 7, 10, and 11. Regular face-to-face classes will resume on September 14.

Hospital and internship duties for college students will continue as scheduled. The College of Law and College of Medicine will make separate class arrangements.

All classes, whether online or face-to-face, and office work will be suspended on September 9, one of the Bar Examination days. Hospital and internship duties will continue unless prior arrangements have been made.

Worship services at the University Church will continue as scheduled.

Campus access will also be restricted during the Bar examinations. Gates 1, 3, 4, and 5 will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles from September 4 to 13. Gate 2 will be reserved for Supreme Court and other authorized personnel on September 6, 9, and 13, while Gate 3 will serve as the entrance and exit point for Bar examinees.

Gates 6, 7, and 8 will be designated for the entrance and exit of Sunday worshipers on September 6 and 13. Other gates will reopen to pedestrians and vehicles according to the University’s announced schedule.

The Supreme Court has requested the public’s understanding and cooperation as the country conducts the 2026 Bar Examinations.
