Central Philippine University’s Political Science and Public Administration students, accompanied by Social Sciences Department faculty member Daryl T. Lutero, participated in the 2026 Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA) Presidents’ Lecture Series on Philippine Democracy on September 24 at the Rehearsal Room of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Main Campus.

Held from 8:30 AM to 12 noon, the lecture was organized by WVSU in partnership with the PPSA and Konread-Adenauer-Stiftung Philippines as part of the PPSA’s 65th founding anniversary celebration.

The forum featured Jorge V. Tigno, DPA, Professor of Political Science at the University of the Philippine Diliman and former PPSA President, who led a discussion on “Philippine Democracy:How Democratic? How Resilient?

The lecture formed a part of a nationwide series designed to bring conversations on Philippine democracy closer to communities across the country.

CPU’s participation in the lecture reflects the university’s commitment to providing its students with opportunities aimed at deepening their understanding of political and social issues.
