Participants gathered for a photo opportunity with CCSPC volunteers after taking part in interactive learning sessions, games, and activities focused on technology, AI, and online safety.
The Central Philippine University College of Computer Studies Provincial Council (CCSPC) successfully conducted “Little Minds, Big Ideas: AI Awareness for Kids,” an outreach program designed to introduce young learners to technology, artificial intelligence, and online safety through engaging and age-appropriate activities.
The program brought together CCSPC student leaders, volunteers, and committee members who worked collaboratively to make the activity possible. Through the combined efforts of the Program, Logistics, Games and Activities, Teaching and Tutoring, Technical, Food and Refreshments, Media and Documentation, Attendance and Certificates, and Clean-Up Committees, the outreach was carried out smoothly from registration and preparation to the final clean-up and departure.
The activity began with the registration and set-up of volunteers, followed by the opening program. BM Ymayah Franz L. Beraye led the opening prayer, while COS Janrickz John Babac delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the participants and highlighting the importance of giving young learners opportunities to understand and explore technology.
The program continued with a Unity Dance led by BM Glens Colyv D. Conde and BM Hadzjira T. Madisa, providing an energetic start to the learning activities and encouraging the pupils to participate actively.
The first major learning session, “Technology for Young Learners,” introduced the participants to basic concepts of technology in a simple and interactive manner. The session was facilitated by Governor Aaliyah Mae G. Damalerio, BM Bern Ryan M. Pelingon, BM Hadzjira T. Madisa, BM Glens Colyv D. Conde, Vice Governor Nicole Delos D. Santos, and Auditor Joshua D. Doronila.
This was followed by an Ice Breaker, which encouraged interaction, participation, and teamwork among the pupils.
The participants then proceeded to the “AI Awareness & Online Safety” session, where they were introduced to the basic idea of artificial intelligence and the importance of being responsible and safe when using technology and online platforms.
The outreach emphasized that AI awareness should begin at an early age. Rather than simply introducing children to new technology, the program aimed to help them understand that technology should be used responsibly, safely, and creatively.
After the learning sessions, the pupils participated in games facilitated by Vice Governor Nicole Delos D. Santos and Auditor Joshua D. Doronila. The activities provided the participants with an opportunity to learn through play while developing teamwork, communication, and confidence.
The program then proceeded to the awarding of certificates, with Governor Aaliyah Mae G. Damalerio, BM Raen Angela D. Jones, and COS Janrickz John Babac assisting in recognizing the participants and contributors to the activity. School supplies were also distributed to the pupils as part of the outreach initiative.
The activity concluded with closing remarks delivered by BM Raen Angela D. Jones, followed by a photo opportunity to document the memorable moments shared by the volunteers and pupils. The program ended with the distribution of Jollibee meals and the final clean-up and departure of the volunteers.
The successful implementation of “Little Minds, Big Ideas: AI Awareness for Kids” demonstrated the importance of teamwork and community engagement. Each committee and volunteer played a role in ensuring that the outreach program was organized, educational, and enjoyable for the young participants.
More than an outreach activity, Little Minds, Big Ideas served as a reminder that meaningful learning can begin at an early age. By introducing children to technology, artificial intelligence, and online safety in an engaging way, CCSPC hopes to inspire young learners to become responsible technology users and future innovators.
The program embodies a simple message: little minds can have big ideas when they are given the knowledge, opportunity, and confidence to explore them.
