HIRAYA: CBAyanihan is a community outreach initiative of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) that seeks to extend immediate assistance to individuals and families affected by unexpected emergencies and calamities. The initiative was organized in response to the fire incident that occurred in Barangay Muelle Loney, Iloilo City, on July 27, 2026, which significantly damaged eight residential houses and displaced 51 individuals.
Through the Ministry of Outreach and External Affairs, with the assistance of the Ministry of Organizations, Board Member Kent Chester Do-oma and Board Member Arby Rose Segunla, spearheaded the initiative to provide essential goods and support to the affected families. With the generous contributions of the College of Computer Studies Student Council and the College of Nursing Student Council, the CBA Student Council gathered and distributed basic necessities, including clothes, canned goods, rice, noodles, and other essential items.
Extending a helping hand: The CBA Student Council distributes donated clothes, canned goods, rice, noodles, and other essential items to families affected by the fire in Barangay Muelle Loney.
HIRAYA: CBAyanihan brought together the College of Business and Accountancy and its partner student councils in extending assistance to the families affected by the fire incident in Barangay Muelle Loney. The initiative focused on providing immediate relief through the collection and distribution of essential goods to help address the basic needs of the displaced individuals.
The CBA Student Council, through the Ministry of Outreach and External Affairs and with the assistance of the Ministry of Organizations, facilitated the collection of donations from the College of Computer Studies Student Council and the College of Nursing Student Council. The collected donations included clothes, canned goods, rice, noodles, and other essential items intended to provide immediate support to the affected families.
On August 12, 2026, the CBA Student Council, together with CBA Outreach Coordinator Prof. Charis Emmelynn Bautista, proceeded to Barangay Muelle Loney to extend the collected donations to the fire victims. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided by the CBA Student Council and its partner organizations.
