On June 5, 2026, BECEd Gems first and second years facilitated Totful Meals Year 2. This activity has been organized and aligned with the course Health, Safety, and Nutrition for Early Childhood Education, which aims to provide the Gems with an opportunity to apply principles of nutrition and food preparation in an educational setting.
Guided by second-year BECED students and supervised by Prof. Maristel Decio, participants prepared nutritious and visually appealing meals designed to encourage healthy eating habits among young children.
The participants observed proper hygiene and safe food practices during the process of preparation. Child-appropriate meals and snacks were creatively and effectively attained. The comprehensive evaluation conducted by the teacher and second-year Gems provided valuable feedback and meaningful insights to the participants.
Throughout the activity, the Gems demonstrated collaboration, ingenuity, and practical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the role of proper nutrition in early childhood development. The event fostered meaningful learning experiences and reinforced the importance of promoting healthy food choices among young learners.
The CPU Early Childhood Program continues to promote and conduct activities that are aligned with the program and the University’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Totful Meals reflects SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
