APPS-CPU’s Mobile Good Governance project earned 2nd Outstanding Practice and the Gawad Habi Special Award, while Team CPU placed 3rd overall in the SK Federation Iloilo City Debate Cup.

The Mobile Good Governance (MGG) project of the Association of Political Science and Public Administration Students-CPU (APPS-CPU), in partnership with JCI Regatta Iloilo, won 2nd Outstanding Practice in the Youth Organization Category among 12 finalists during the SKY Awards of the SK Federation Iloilo City in partnership with Samahan ng Bagong Kabataan on September 25, 2026, at Iloilo Grand Hotel.

The project also received the Gawad Habi Special Award for Best Project Portfolio.

On September 7, 2026, Social Sciences Department faculty member and project proponent Asst. Prof. Daryl T. Lutero joined the Project Pitching and Interview after the MGG project was selected as one of 20 finalists from youth organizations in Iloilo City.

APPS-CPU was represented during the awarding ceremony by President and Project Committee Chair Regina Viola Casamorin, former President Railyn Jeffe Alcarde, and Vice President for External Affairs Angel Napano, together with adviser and project proponent Asst. Prof. Lutero and Director of Student Development and Programs Pastor Alfred C. Morales.

The MGG project is an outreach program designed to develop good governance skills among youth leaders, particularly Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Supreme Student Learner Government (SSLG) officers, through capacity-building and values development workshops.

The program consists of three components: PAGBALAY, which focuses on Good Governance and Organizational Development; PAGDUMALA, which covers Basic Parliamentary Procedure and Basic Resolution Writing; and PAGHANGPANAY, which discusses Ethics and Accountability in Good Governance.

The project aims to equip youth leaders with knowledge, skills, and values to help them become competent leaders and contribute to good governance in their communities.

A key component of MGG is Mobile TAPAT, a portable classroom on wheels equipped with visual aids, modules, and technology assessment tools. The initiative brings governance education to communities where traditional capacity-building programs may be less accessible.

MGG has reached youth leaders in Badiang, New Lucena; Macatol, Pototan; and Iloilo City National High School, serving SK and SSLG officers.

The project was supported through donations from Social Sciences Department faculty members and the expertise shared by Atty. Rhona Eresuelo and Dr. Renia F. Dela Peña.
