Angel Kayle De Sesto receives her certificate from Mharlo Lucas, Program Coordinator of Resources for the Blind, Inc.

On April 10 to 14, 2023, Angel Kayle de Sesto, the visually impaired Centralian passer of Licensure Exam for Teachers was invited for training in Manila. The personal invitation came from Mharlo Lucas and Marietta Regala; Program Coordinator and Administration head, respectively of the Resources for the Blind, Inc (RBI). The company has provided Angel with her needs while she was a special student of the College of Education at Central Philippine University.

Her physical condition did not hinder Angel’s journey to her dream of becoming a teacher. More than what she realized in her trip is her having been appointed officially as Trainer for the visually impaired (blind) students in Iloilo.

“I may not be able to fully thank everyone behind my success, but I would be thankful forever, for my Alma Mater Central Philippine University, CPU College of Education and her generous unit heads and faculty; the RBI, SPED and my parents, and many of those who inspired and motivated me to find ‘light at the end of the tunnel.”

I am thanking, in particular, “Ma’am Ma. Theresa C. Tupas, a SPED teacher and my proctor when I took the LET and passed the exam. She is helping me to gather participants – for the official training that I will conduct in Iloilo in July 2023.”

She added that, “As I have previously mentioned in The Weekly Centralian Link, God allowed that sad incident to happen to me, and then He gave me the honor and success with a mission.”

Her training in Manila was sponsored by the National Council on Disability affairs, Disability Resource and Development Center, Overbrook School for the Blind, The Nippon Foundation the IBM Philippines.
