On July 27, 2024, the Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR) hosted a significant event, the Strengthened Athaganay 2024, designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of its student leaders. The “UniGov: Parliamentary Procedures and Internal Rules and Procedure Workshop,” held at the Lopez Hall Building at Central Philippine University, was a half-day segment of the event aimed at educating and engaging all Vice Governors on the internal rules, procedures, and parliamentary practices of the Republic.

This workshop was spearheaded by Representative Jaylord F. Lampa from the College of Arts and Sciences, who also serves as the Deputy Prime Minister, and Senator Crisfe P. Vergara from the College of Arts and Sciences, who is the Prime Minister of the 20th Parliament.

This workshop was a pivotal segment of the morning session for the Vice Governors participating in the Strengthened Athaganay 2024 initiative. Its primary goal was to ensure that all Vice Governors gain a comprehensive understanding of the governing principles and regulations that guide the operations of the entire Republic and their Local Government Units (LGU). By promoting uniformity and adherence to established standards, the workshop aimed to foster consistency and cohesion across the university’s various LGUs.

To achieve this, CPUR invited Ms. Collyn Maxie Rose T. Moscoso as the keynote speaker. Ms. Moscoso brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. During the event, she covered essential topics related to internal rules, procedures, and parliamentary practices, providing the Vice Governors with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively govern their respective LGUs. Her insights and guidance were invaluable in promoting a deeper understanding of the Republic’s governing framework, ensuring that all student leaders are well-equipped to uphold and enforce these standards within their respective LGUs.

The UniGov: Internal Rules and Procedure Workshop stands as a testament to CPUR’s commitment to excellence in governance and leadership. By investing in the education and development of its student leaders, the Republic is poised to achieve greater uniformity, efficiency, and effectiveness in its operations, ultimately benefiting the entire university community.
