Pharmacy professionals and students gather at Central Philippine University for the 2024 Sundown Zumba for a Cause, marking World Pharmacists Day.

Marking the celebration of World Pharmacists Day 2024, the Philippine Pharmacists Association Iloilo-Guimaras Chapter, in collaboration with Young Pharmacists Group Iloilo-Guimaras Chapter, Philippine Society of Hospital Pharmacists-Western Visayas Chapter, JPPhA-CPU Chapter, JPPhA – PHINMA UI Chapter, and the JPPhA – Epsilon Chapter – Apothecarian Council, carried out its third annual “Sundown Zumba for a Cause,” on October 5, 2024, at the Central Philippine University (CPU) Football Field.

With this year’s theme “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs,” the Junior Philippine Pharmacists Association – CPU Chapter, along with the CPU College of Pharmacy, had the privilege of hosting the said event that brought together the pharmacy community to champion fitness and promote global health initiatives.

The festivities kicked off with a vibrant parade, leading into a high-energy Zumba session led by The Coaches, who expertly guided everyone through exhilarating moves, keeping the momentum going throughout the night.

This lively Sundown Zumba not only united the pharmacy community in promoting fitness but also created lasting memories, culminating in an exciting afterparty featuring DJ Young.

We extend our sincerest appreciation to the sponsors from Pharex Health Corporation, Confluence Health and Wellness Products – Life Extension Philippines, and the Philippine Society of Hospital Pharmacists-Western Visayas Chapter. Your support was a cornerstone in making this event a success.

Through this shared effort, participants not only fostered fitness but will also make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need, as the proceeds will aid a Medical Mission for the indigenous community in Brgy. Matag-ub, Janiuay, Iloilo. Ultimately, this event reinforced the commitment of current and aspiring pharmacists to collaboratively address global health needs through community engagement and support.
