Engineer Caesar Rico S. Acanto, head of the Electrical Engineering department, College of Engineering, Central Philippine University, has been elected as the new Vice President for Visayas of PAES (Philippine Association of Engineering Schools) for 2023-2024.

Originally founded in 1955 as PATE, the Philippine Association of Engineering Schools (PAES), Inc. is a consortium of Philippine higher education institutions that provide engineering programs. Its primary goal is to guarantee the high caliber of engineering education in the Philippines by encouraging faculty development initiatives, encouraging members to share best practices at the annual General Membership Meeting (GMM) and Conference, and involving faculty members and students in research, innovation, and extension services.

Cesar Rico S. Acanto, REE, MEng, ASEAN Eng. was introduced as a current officer, alongside Rogelio B. Aniez Jr., DT, PEE of National University as treasurer, Ryan C. Reyes, DT of Technological University of the Philippines – Manila as P.R.O., and Marion Lux Y. Castro, PhD of University of the Philippines Los Baños as the Director for Luzon.

Engineer Cesar Rico S. Acanto is also a member of the ASEAN Engineering Register.
