The content of the orientation included what the students can expect from their courses. The policies of the School of Graduate Studies were also sufficiently explained to the students during the orientation.

The online orientation started at 2:00 in the afternoon. Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor, University church led the opening prayer. In her welcome remarks, Dr. Rowena M. Libo-on, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, encouraged the students to “look forward to achieving all the goals that we have committed for the School of Graduate Studies and the University. Despite the many challenges, we have the Canvas platform – the Learning Management System that CPU is using and other platforms like the Zoom and Google Classroom that are readily available to the teachers.”

CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Irving Domingo Rio gave an inspirational message during the orientation.

In his Inspirational Message, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Irving Domingo L. In other words, to adapt is to continue.” He said that CPU had a no-nonsense online training of teaching skills that is research-based and is backed up by CPU’s adequate resources in order to respond to the need during the pandemic.

The Graduate Studies offerings were enumerated by the respective coordinators during the orientation; each providing perspective and assurance to the students. One of the coordinators in the Masteral programs, Dr. Merle L. Junsay, emphasized CPU’s Vision of Exemplary Christian Education for Life. She encouraged the students to enjoy the learning process despite the inconveniences.

Dr. Carmen Hernandez, Coordinator for the School of Graduate Studies, acknowledged that the Post- Graduate Studies is one of the most advanced degrees and that it will reveal if one is willing to take the extra mile.”

A brief orientation of the Canvas platform was presented by Jonathan L. Razon, a CPU Faculty.
