Former Social Work Department Coordinator and faculty Professor Sarah Magalona- Barayuga has been appointed Chief of the Provincial Social Work and Development Office. She succeeded former PSWDO chief Dr. Neneth Pador and assumed office last January 4, 2021.

Barayuga is an experienced social worker and has worked in various fields of social work and development for 32 years both in government and the private sector.

She has been in the academe for more than 12 years as faculty and coordinator of the Social Work Department of Central Philippine University.

Barayuga holds a Master of Management major in Rural Development degree from the University of the Philippines-Visayas. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of the Philippines- Diliman.
