The annual Festival of Lights and Music at Central will open on December 6, 2019, 6pm (Friday) at the CPU Centennial Walkway. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Jesus Christ, the Living Light of Life.”

The festival brought in more than 20,000 visitors last year and has become one of the most anticipated Christmas events in the city of Iloilo.

CPUAAI President Engr. Isagani Jalbuena said that they are expecting more visitors this year. There will also be a nightly entertainment show after the switching on of lights.

As a yearly tradition, a Christmas Village replica will be constructed between the Weston Hall and the Centennial Building. Different colleges and departments led by CPU Republic President Mr. Riego Garcia will also participate in the festivities.

Government officials such as Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and 2nd District Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member and CPU alumnus Hon. Demy Sonza were some of the special guests during last year’s opening and switching on of lights.

The Festival of Lights and Music at Central started through the efforts of the CPU Alumni Association Inc. (CPUAAI) and has been attracting visitors since 1998.
