Centralian Engineer Alana Grace Tubal, CPU Pollution Control Officer.

As the Covid19 leaves its footprints behind, new environmental questions arise; expertise in environmental service is needed. “A team player with excellent communication skill that bring out quality outputs” is the reason why Centralian Engr. Alana Grace Tubal (BS Chem Eng’g Batch 2019) is now the Pollution Control Officer of the University.

“An Environmental Compliance Certificate is what I am seriously working on for Central Philippine University,” she said. Tubal teams up with the College of Engineering Faculty, Engr. Victor Magtulis, Chem Eng’g on the compliance requirement project of CPU.

According to her, it involves governmental laws, environmental policies and presentation of Solid Waste Management Plan. She added that “careful details of research and chemical analysis should be done, in order to accomplish the Environmental Compliance requirement.”

The Pollution Control Office is being supported by the Occupational Safety & Health Office managed by Mr. Prim Vergara, OSH Officer.

Engr. Tubal is a Licensed Chemical Engineer who can easily adapt to new project designation; has strong analytical thinking, and problem solving ability. She is attentive to details and can work independently.

During her stint at the Geosphere Technologies, Inc., as Technical Staff and Chemical Engineer, she has handled several environmental projects and has assisted clients in the acquisition of Compliance Certificates in coordination with local government.

She conducted Information, Communication (IEC) activities; prepared Environmental Risk Assessment Reports, Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Monitoring Plan. She has attended several environmental seminars and trainings.

She was the Regional Chairperson of Impact Philippines (2018-2019) and was a recipient of the Mercury Drug Excellence in Science and Mathematics Award.

During her College days in CPU, Tubal was a consistent Dean’s Lister in the College of Engineering, has been a Board Member (2016-2017) and Vice-Governor (2017-2018) respectively, of the Engineering Student Council. She received Service Award from the CPU Republic in 2018.
