On May 1, 2025, Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR) proudly participated in the Run for Positive Change as an SDG Explorer Partner, joining the 5KM category of this meaningful event organized by the Junior Chamber International Regatta (JCI Regatta).
As an institution committed to fostering youth leadership and sustainable community development, CPUR’s involvement reflects its alignment with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The run, held at SM City Iloilo, brought together hundreds of Ilonggos who ran not just for fitness, but for a cause, answering the advocacy-driven question, “Para kanino ka tumatakbo?”
Representing the university with pride, CPUR officials, Members of the Parliament, and CPUR Staff Guild members actively took part in the run and successfully completed the 5KM course. They crossed the finish line as one unified team, exemplifying student leadership and commitment in action.
The Run for Positive Change is one of the key events under the flagship project of JCI Regatta: The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) 2025. With CPUR’s active role as an SDG Explorer Partner, the event further highlighted the shared vision between educational institutions and youth organizations in cultivating socially conscious leaders.
By finishing the run as a team, the CPU Republic officials embodied their commitment to the values of perseverance, service, and community empowerment, further inspiring fellow youth to take action for positive change.
