What does a day of films, advocacy, and impact look like? CPU student filmmakers invite you to experience 12 powerful stories at SIGRA8 this April 22. See you there!
Central Philippine University (CPU) is set to host the much-anticipated Sigrab Film Festival 2025 on April 22 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. Now on its eighth edition, the festival—dubbed SIGRA8—returns with a promise to captivate, inspire, and ignite change through the lens of creativity and advocacy.
Organized in partnership with the Environmental Management Bureau – DENR Region 6, this year’s festival continues its legacy as a platform for young filmmakers to showcase narratives that reflect social consciousness and artistic ingenuity.
Originally slated to feature entries from 13 colleges across the university, the festival lineup was recently adjusted following the withdrawal of the College of Theology (COT) and their film entry “Boliloy.” In a statement released on April 11, the festival organizers expressed their gratitude to COT for their efforts and extended well wishes for the college’s future cinematic ventures.
With 12 participating colleges moving forward, competition remains fierce as each production team vies for the coveted Best Film title. The official posters of the competing entries were unveiled on April 7, generating excitement and anticipation among the CPU community and beyond.

- Awarding Ceremony: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
