The month-long U-Day celebration will kick off with a Sports Parade at the campus quadrangle.

Central Philippine University has released its final Schedule of Activities for the University Day (U-Day) 2019 celebrations with the theme: “Central Spirit Leading Us Onward as One”.  A Sports Parade will kick off to signify the start of the month-long celebration on September 2 at the campus quadrangle.

The Opening Ceremony of the Intramural Games will be at 2PM at the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park (APCP) after the parade. The Aquathlon will start after the opening ceremony.

The Literary-Musical Contests will be held from September 16 up to September 23 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA) and the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park (APCP). The Debates, Declamation and Extemporaneous Speaking are among the important events in the literary contest.

Preliminary events for Mr. & Ms. CPU Pageant are scheduled on September 18 for the Pre-Pageant Interview and the Talent’s Nights on September 18. The main pageant will be on the 24th at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The University Day Highlights will be on the 26th, 27th and 28th. On September 26, the Foot Parade will start at 5:30am and afterwards an opening program will be held at the Big Field. It will be hosted by the CPU Republic – the organizing partner of CPU for U-Day 2019. The Street Dance Competition will take place after the opening program and the foot parade. Students, faculty members and staff are expected to dance for the rest of the morning until it will be picnic time. Groups, student organizations and alumni associations will have their designated areas in the campus.

Friday, September 27 will still be filled up with activities that include Dance Sports Competition and Battle of the Bands from 2:00 PM until 8:00PM. Preparations for the next day highlight, the Alumni Homecoming 2019 will be going on at the RMA by 1:00PM.

The big day for Alumni will start on Saturday at 5:00 in the morning with a Diana (Pamukaw) around the campus to be led by the CPU Symphonic Band conductor Mr. Ascencion Bautista. The awaited Alumni Night will be at the Iloilo Convention Center.

The University Day celebrations will be capped by a Memorial Service to commemorate CPU’s 114th Founding Anniversary and Honoring the American Missionaries on October 1 – 6:00AM at the Filipino-American Cemetery.
