The sponsors and escorts with CPU administrators during the event held at the Big Field.
Central Philippine University ROTC Unit held its Presentation of Officers and Escorts in honor of Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President on February 8, 2024 at 3:00 in the afternoon. The program started with an invocation led by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian.
It was the first time that the CPU ROTC Unit had a Presentation of Sponsors with Escorts. The presentation of sponsors is one of the highlights of the CADET CORPS ever since. With more female cadet officers enrolled in ROTC this time, it is now essential to have sponsors for male cadet officers and escorts for female cadet officers during the presentation. There has been more female cadet officers enrolled in the CPU ROTC Unit.
In his Welcome Remarks, Col. Peter Bedoña PA (Ret) said that “the Corps of sponsors is an integral part of the CPU ROTC Unit. They serve as the sounding board of the cadets for whatever problems they may face during their ROTC Training. They maintain a healthy, professional, relationship. Their role has evolved and matured into a distinct social adjunct of the Corps of cadets in various areas, as they support activities of the CPU Corps of Cadets.”
Bedoña acknowledged the Guest of Honor, CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and the support of the Administration. Also present were NSTP Coordinator-Prof. Annalie Gelongos, Asst. Commandant Maj Shem Catipunan, Officers and members of the CPU Board of Trustees, Officers and members of CPU Alumni Association, the Deans of different Colleges, Department Heads, Administration Officials, Faculty and Staff, ROTC Training Staff, Crosswords Frasority Officers and Members, Cadet Officers, Corps of Sponsors and Escorts headed by Miss Lyzel Esmana Gabutin, Cadets and their parents.

University President Rev. Dr. Dagohoy in his message, acknowledged the historic event. He mentioned “The responsibility of the government to promote the role of the youth in nation building; to encourage young and old to work together, but especially to empower the youth.”
About 586 strong cadets enrolled in CPU ROTC Course attended the parade in review with the presentation of sponsors and escorts. The program ended with the Closing Remarks by Maj Catipunan.
The Escort’s and Sponsor’s Ball followed in the evening at the CPU Educational Media Center. Prof. Annalie D. Gelongos was Guest of Honor and Speaker.
