The annual Inauguration Ceremony of the Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR) was held on August 8, 2024, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, marking another chapter in the history of the oldest student governing body in Southeast Asia.

This prestigious event celebrated the newly elected local and national officials, symbolizing a new era of leadership and an unforgettable journey ahead. The occasion was graced by University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, who expressed his gratitude to the newly inaugurated officials. In his address, he offered the following advice: “First, God appointed us to the position we desire. Second, leadership is all about service. Third, persevere in opposition and trials. And lastly, choose to make a difference.”

Additionally, University Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Esther Rose Romarate, and City Councilor Honorable Rex Marcus Sarabia delivered inspiring messages to the officials. They emphasized the importance of accepting the responsibilities of leadership with a commitment to serve not only the community but also beyond, with a strong sense of duty toward Central.

One of the ceremony’s highlights was a message from Senator Risa Hontiveros, who stated, “The most important thing in facing the most difficult times is showing up.” Alongside this inspiring message, the local and national government unit officials were pinned and took their oaths, ready to pursue their ambitions for the student body and assume office for the academic year 2024-2025.

The program concluded with my inaugural address, where I emphasized, “Let’s nurture potential, bring solutions, and stand with the students we represent” This statement encapsulates the spirit of what the Republic aspires to achieve for Central this year.
