CPU Quality Assurance Center conducts bench-marking activity in Five Academic Institutions.

The Quality Assurance Center with Dr. Anna May Zerrudo, Acting Director and Prof. Sharlene Gotico, Acting Assistant Director, conducted a bench-marking activity in five academic institutions on June 1-7, 2022.

The five institutions that were visited are Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in Camiling, Tarlac, University of the Cordilleras and St. Louis University in Baguio City, De La Salle University in Dasmariñas, Cavite, and Aklan State University which was also conducting their bench-marking activity in TAU.

These universities excel in different aspects like in university rankings, environment practices, research programs, technology and innovation, and community empowerment. This has helped them improve each other’s strengths by analyzing their best practices.

“This benchmarking activity allowed the personnel of QAC to see how other big universities in Luzon are doing in terms of instruction, accreditation and other areas of quality assurance. The main reason of the CPU QAC personnel in doing the benchmarking activity is to go out of their comfort zones and learn best practices from other academic institutions. It has been a fruitful 7-day benchmarking activities since it also provided CPU an opportunity to develop partnership with other universities and continue doing collaborative activities with them”, said Dr. Zerrudo.

Dr. Zerrudo and Prof. Gotico also met with the other directors of the different institutions namely, Dr. Christine Ferrer, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs, TAU, Dr. Elizabeth Salapong, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance from University of the Cordilleras, Ms. Leonor Amacio, Director of the Herminia D. Torres Quality Assurance Office of the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and Dr. Mary Grace Carrido, Director of External Affairs and International Linkages.

This bench-marking activity is to exchange best practices in the different areas of school management and ways on how to improve world rankings in ranking publications such as Times Higher Education IMPACT Rankings, World Universities with Real Impact (WURI), etc.
