A Centralian is meant to excel – Central Philippine University presented and awarded recipients of the college academic honors and awards for the school year 2022-2023 during its College Honors, Awards and Recognition Program on June 23, 2023, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

A day worth celebrating, Centralians received their certificates as well as medals in recognition of their hard work, dedication, passion, and excellence in different areas of their academic and non-academic lives.

This year’s program recognized the Centralian Topnotchers of various Board Examinations; awardees from Professional Organization Awards; Academic Awards; Scholarship Awards; Special Awards; Student Leadership Awards; Work Student Awards; Sports and Athletics Awards; CPU Loyalty Awardees; and Honor Graduates with more than 612 graduates awarded with Latin Honors.

The recipient of the Alton E. Bigelow Memorial Award also known as The Alma Mater Prize, the highest award given to a Centralian graduate, is Kriss Kringle Inge C. Bancolo from the College of Hospitality Management while the Rotary Award for the Most Outstanding Graduate was awarded to Jireh Daniel Tim L. Pinuela from the College of Education.

Pastor Alfred C. Morales, the chairperson of the said program and the CPU Recruitment Officer, expressed his gratitude for this endeavor. “After three (3) years since the pandemic started that we have not held a face-to-face program to honor and recognize the awardees, we thank the Lord that He gave us fair weather as He answered our prayers for it.”

He is also most grateful for the committee members and “owe the resounding success of the program to the concerted efforts of the vibrant College Honors, Awards and Recognition committee members, the full support of the CPU Administration and the presence of all the program participants.”

Anchoring on God’s Word in Philippians 4:13 which says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” according to Pastor Morales, “all committee members did their best to the best they could in having made the program a successful one. All glory and honor belong to God, indeed!”
