CPU Elem ’73 shares a great recollection of what had happened in the past and a happy sharing of God’s goodness in their lives.

Together again––A number of Central Philippine University Elementary School class 1973 had a preliminary meet-up on May 20, 2023, at CPU Educational Media Center Conference Room to connect with one another and to celebrate God’s faithfulness in their lives for the last 50 years as classmates and friends.

Dr. Florentino ‘’Tino”’ Alerta, a doctor turned pastor and Jose “Butch” Eguico, an engineer turned pastor too, proclaimed God’s word and testified how good God was, is, and will be in their lives. It was then affirmed by the sharing of life of all the classmates present.

Indeed, it was a great recollection of what had happened in the past and a happy sharing of God’s goodness in their lives – their successes, failures, trials, challenges and problems which made them strong and affirmed His goodness to all.

What was supposed to be just a social gathering turned into a meaningful sharing, reflection, fellowship, and thanksgiving aptly summed up by classmate Rinand Escuban: “Classmates of CPU Elementary class ‘73, each of you has inspired, impacted, and enriched my life. Thank you for sharing your greatest accomplishment during our gathering – your life lived victoriously despite seemingly great odds. We give honor and glory to God. You have my prayers.”

In reminiscing about the CPU Elementary days, Rinand sang a portion of a song he had sung during the campaign of Nelson George de la Fuente as President of the CPU Junior Republic then. This time, Doc Nelson was unanimously chosen as the President of the CPU Elem class ‘73.

The CPU Elem class ‘73 will celebrate their golden anniversary with more members of the class attending come September 30 and October 1 of this year.
