CPUDC Artistic Director Randy A. Lero (center) was presented a recognition as Most Exemplary World Class Dance Guru of the Year.

The CPU Dance Company (CDC) received an International Golden Globe Achievers Awards as World Class Cultural Dance Group of the year. The award was received on October 7, 2023 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, in Iloilo City.

Dance Company Artistic Director Prof. Randy A. Lero, at the same time, was presented with a recognition as Most Exemplary World Class Dance Guru of the Year. Several awards for different sectors in Iloilo City – including business, education, entertainment and tourism were also given awards.

During the event the CPU Dance Company performed an entertainment number that presented the different festivals of Region VI – a one of a kind dance sports performance. Prof. Lero said that, “This recognition is for the CPU Community, and everyone who loves the Philippine Culture. This will serve as another inspiration for the group to continue their advocacy to protect, promote and love the Philippines through its cultural dances and music.”

The group was invited to be part of Dangal ng Lahi in Vietnam this December 2023. The group’s cultural performance included spectacular dances which must be a pride for Central Philippine University.

CPU Dance Company is under the management of CPU Cultural Affairs Office headed by Prof. Crista S. Huyong.
