Congratulations to Dr. Sheila Mae B. Pingul-Ong and Engr. Christsam Joy S. Jaspe-Santander for being accepted as Associate Members of the NRCP.

In a significant achievement for the academic and research community at Central Philippine University, two distinguished members of the Chemical Engineering Department are set to join the prestigious ranks of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). Dr. Sheila Mae B. Pingul-Ong and Engr. Christsam Joy S. Jaspe-Santander have been accepted as Associate Members of this esteemed organization, marking a notable milestone in their careers.

The impending induction of Dr. Pingul-Ong and Engr. Jaspe-Santander as NRCP Associate Members is scheduled to take place during the 20th Visayas Regional Cluster Convention and Stakeholders’ Engagement, which will be hosted at Leyte Normal University in Tacloban City, Leyte on October 25-26, 2023. This event promises to be a momentous occasion for these two talented academics as they officially become part of the NRCP’s esteemed roster.

The National Research Council of the Philippines is a vital institution that operates as an attached agency to the Department of Science and Technology. Comprised of a national pool of researchers, scientists, engineers, and technologists from various scientific disciplines, the NRCP plays a crucial role as an advisory body to the Philippine Government on matters of national interest.

Being an NRCP member opens doors to numerous benefits and privileges, including access to funding for basic research projects, opportunities for capacity building and professional development, as well as engagement as experts and advisers for various advisory and consultancy services across different sectors in the country.

This appointment holds great significance, not just for Dr. Pingul-Ong and Engr. Jaspe-Santander but for the entire academic community at CPU.
