The United Nations Day 2021 celebration was participated by Central Philippine University with the virtual presentations of CPU Kindergarten and CPU Elementary School. The Kinder school had their virtual program via Zoom on Friday, October 29, while the Elementary school on November 5.

The Kinder School virtual program started with a prayer by Mr. Emar C. Glory, a Kindergarten Parent. It was followed by the singing of Philippine National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Rejean S. Hipolito, a Kindergarten Parent.

Kindergarten School Principal, Mrs. Hannah Siosan delivered her welcome remarks. She thanked all parents, faculty and staff for their cooperation in making the United Nations Day meaningful and impressive to the children. CPU Kinder School Secretary May Melitado Guilem explained to them “What the United Nations is all about.”

“The United Nations began with 51 countries, including the Philippines. They signed the U.N. foundational treaty that brought the international organization into existence on October 24, 1945. The United Nations is committed to maintaining international peace and security. Friendly relations were developed among nations in order to promote progress, better living standards, and human rights. As of this time, member states at the U.N. General Assembly reaffirmed their commitment for humanity through the U.N. Charter. The concept of multilateralism reveals what the United Nations is all about.”

“The United Nations has a mission on education. Its objective is to help education enable socioeconomic mobility to go up. This is a key to helping people to escape poverty.”

Ma’am Praise Enriquez Glory, a CPU Kindergarten teacher led the children in singing. The closing prayer was led by Mrs. Ann B. Azares, Kindergarten parent. Ma’am Rea Ablayan, a kindergarten teacher, led the singing of Alma Mater song.

The CPU Elementary School United Nation’s Day celebration 2021 has the theme “Building Back Together for Peace and Prosperity.” The CPUES virtual program on November 5 started with an Opening Prayer by Matteo Chaim A. Borlado (Grade – 1 Masunurin). The Philippine National Anthem sang by CPU Excel Chorus followed.

Prof. Janet P. Jaco, CPUES Principal delivered her Welcome Remarks. In her message, Jaco said that “This year’s celebration centers on the world’s recovery from the global health crises brought by the COVID 19 pandemic. The CPUES community is one with the celebration which promotes unity among learners through everyone’s concerted micro efforts.”

“The UN celebration encouraged the virtual learners in pursuing their goals and dreams. The UN celebration has encouraged all the virtual learners of CPUES to never get tired of making a big difference in their respective homes and even in the society where they live by following health protocols making sure that all is healthy and safe,” Jaco added.

An opening spiel was made by Valhalla M. Fortunado (Grade -1 Masunurin).

In her inspirational Message, Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice President for Student Affairs said that we must join in the objective of the United Nations in promoting peace all over the world. She also emphasized that we must do our part in the fight against Covid-19.

A song number was then rendered by Kendra Clariz R. Ferraris (Grade 1-Masipag). It was followed by video presentations of the Mr. and Miss Philippines 2021 and Ms. United Nations. Zoey Z. Baylon (Grade -1 Magalang) rendered a song number in between.

Sun Gyann Mae S. Alog (Grade 6-Excel) and Asher Benedict R. Perez (Grade 6-Hope) were chosen as the Faces of CPUES for the U.N. celebration 2021. Shiloh Vienne P. Canonigo (Grade 6 Love) and Jahaziel Jeiel B. Cantel (Grade 6-Joy) were the representatives of the Philippine Flag as Mr. and Miss Philippines 2021. Ms. Jeneth C. Zante Araling Panlipunan Subject Coordinator made a closing remark. The United Nations Song and the Alma Mater Song followed. The program ended with a closing Prayer by Coleen Faith A. Lamoso (Grade 1-Masipag).

Mrs. Mae Ann B. Puertollano, Grade -1 Magalang adviser, was the host of the program.
