The CEW Praise Jam during the last day of the CEW convocations is a highly anticipated event by the Centralians.

Central Philippine University (CPU) recently celebrated this semester’s Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) from March 1 to March 8, 2024. The event, held under the theme “SEEK,” drew inspiration from biblical passages Luke 19:10 and Matthew 6:33. Throughout the week-long event, students and faculty gathered to explore the spiritual essence of their academic journey. Luke 19:10 from the Bible reads: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” This passage underscores the importance of diligence and responsibility with the resources and opportunities we receive. Matthew 6:33 from the Bible reads: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This passage highlights the significance of prioritizing God in our lives and trusting Him to provide for us. Together, these verses underscore the central themes of salvation and spiritual priority in the teachings of Jesus.

The celebration started with an opening program on March 4, 2024, held at the university’s big field. Subsequent convocations catered to various educational levels, from kindergarten to college, taking place at the venues like the Rose Memorial Auditorium, University Church, and Entertainment Media Center. These convocations served as sacred spaces where students and faculty alike could come together to seek spiritual guidance, find solace in community, and deepen their understanding of the profound connections between faith and learning. As participants departed from these gatherings, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose, fortified by the collective experience of worship, reflection, and fellowship.

The culmination of the week unfolded with a vibrant Praise Jam, igniting spirits and fostering a sense of communal worship and celebration. The attendees were immersed in an atmosphere of joyful praise and heartfelt devotion. Through dynamic performances, inclusive music selections, and moments of prayer and reflection, participants of all ages and backgrounds came together in unity, forging deep connections and renewing their commitment to their faith journeys. As the event concluded, the campus was infused with a palpable sense of spiritual energy, inspiring individuals to carry the spirit of the Praise Jam with them as they continued their academic and spiritual pursuits.

The Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) holds significant importance to Central Philippine University (CPU) as it serves as a cornerstone event that reinforces the institution’s commitment to holistic education. CEW provides a dedicated platform for students and faculty to integrate spiritual growth with academic pursuits, fostering a nurturing environment where faith and learning are intertwined. Through CEW, CPU reaffirms its mission to educate and empower individuals to lead lives of significance and service, making it an integral part of the university’s identity and ethos.
