Students from the CPU College of Agriculture Resources and Environmental Sciences (CARES) bagged awards in several contests during the National Rice Awareness Month Celebration of the Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas Agriculture and Research Consortium (DA-WESVIARC) on November 5, 2019, at Hamungaya, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Congratulations John Patrick E. Casipe and Keymart Sumoba of CPU – CARES for winning the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD for National Rice Awareness Month Rice Art Contest held at DA-WESVIARC.

John Patrick Casipe, a 5th year BS Agricultural Engineering student, and Keymart Sumoba, a 1st year BS Agriculture student, won 3rd Place and the People’s Choice Award in the Rice Art Mosaic Contest. 2nd year BS Agriculture student, Melody Basinang, and 5th year BS Agricultural Engineering student, Mysel Taladhay were the champions in the Agri-Talino Quiz Bee.

Representatives from CPU competed alongside students from 26 colleges and universities in Western Visayas.
