Central Philippine University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) batch 1993 successfully held their 31st reunion last July 29-31, 2024, in the New Jersey and New York area.
According to Mr. Jonathan Anotado Gapilango, the reunion aimed to foster camaraderie and reminisce about college days and the challenges faced as new immigrants in the United States. While there was no formal theme, the event was a platform for batchmates to reconnect and strengthen their bonds.
The three-day gathering kicked off with a welcome dinner at a Filipino-owned restaurant. The following day, the group enjoyed shopping at American Dream, one of the largest malls in the US, followed by a Hawaiian-themed dinner cruise in New York City, culminating in a breathtaking view of the Statue of Liberty.
Gapilango emphasized the significance of reunions in solidifying friendships, sharing memories, and creating a sense of community among batchmates. The event served as a venue to celebrate milestones, reaffirm their connection to CPU, and reminisce about shared experiences.
“The 31st BSN 1993 reunion brought us together to reconnect with old friends, celebrate milestones, reaffirm our sense of community and belonging, reminisce about shared experiences, and create new memories. The allure of shared history, camaraderie, nostalgia, and the chance to strengthen bonds with batchmates were all compelling reasons that motivated us to attend this special event,” Gapilango said.
While there were no formal plans for a community outreach or charity initiative during this reunion, the batch expressed their commitment to giving back to their alma mater, Central Philippine University.
As the group parted ways, they expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect and vowed to maintain their strong bond.
