Poral finished as finalist during the 1st Radyo Bandera Live Reporting Competition.

Ryan Dave Poral, a fourth year Bachelor of Arts in Communication student represented Central Philippine University during the first ever Radyo Bandera Iloilo live reporting competition on April 18, 2023 held at SM City Iloilo.

The said competition challenges the participants to present news reports as live. They were given a situation and should act as a beat reporter breaking the new to his/her anchor. Poral was given a hostage taking situation.


Love and support–from his friends, classmates and professors from DLMCH including CAS Dean Dr. Stella Fernandez.

“Medyo challenging sia kay gamay lang nga info ang ihatag nila kag kung kulang, ikaw na bahala magdugang. Natestingan gid ang thinking skills ko”, Poral shared.
Poral is grateful to have represented CPU in this competition. It has been awhile since the university sends Communication students compete with other schools in these kind of event because of the pandemic. He expressed his gratitude for the support of his friends, family, and the whole CPU Community especially to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and to the Department of Languages, Mass Communication and Humanities (DLMCH).

“Sa akon nga mga friends, family, sa akon nga department especially kay Dean Stella nga nag kadto gid para mag lantaw, kag bilog nga faculty and staff sang DLMCH. Wala man ko nagdaog apang malipayon gid ko sa suporta ninyo,” he said.
