Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas expressed his sincere gratitude to Centralian visual artist Efraim G. Alfaras upon receiving a unique painting in canvass done through liquifiber medium. The liquifiber medium is now being used by Alfaras after he accidentally discovered that a liquefied cloth can be used as a paint.
The painting that depicts the faces of honorable Mayor Treñas and his wife Rosalie was presented to the couple as a gift from the Centralian Visual Artists Society. In an expression of gratitude, the Mayor said, “Ilonggo talent is truly remarkable! My sincerest gratitude to Ef Alfaras of Centralian Visual Artists Society for this piece of art. CENVAS presented their unique technique in forming masterpieces that helps express, and inspire the Ilonggos.”
Alfaras and his group at CENVAS have been actively holding art exhibits at the malls in Iloilo. Initial attractions of their works were seen at the Robinsons Place in Pavia, Iloilo and at the Robinsons Place in Jaro, Iloilo City.
One of the plans of CENVAS is to encourage students in arts. There is also a proposal to partner with the CPU Packaging Engineering.
