Students from Central Philippine University recently garnered recognition at the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) and Philippine DanceSport Federation (PDSF) 3rd Quarter National DanceSport Championship 2024, held on September 14-15, 2024, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Lahug Cebu City, Philippines.

Kealyn Therese F. Castigador from HUMMS 11-1 and Ruel Cyann M. Paclibar from STEM 11-6, both from the Department of Senior High School, showcased their exceptional skills and artistry across various dance categories.

On September 14, they competed in the Under-21 Modern Standard Category, where they advanced from the Quarter Finals with 22 couples. They progressed to the Semifinals, where 12 couples competed, and then to the Final rounds, ultimately securing a commendable 6th place.

The following day, September 15, Castigador and Paclibar competed in the PDSF Youth A Modern Standard event. Out of 22 pairs, they advanced to the final six and achieved 4th place. Additionally, they participated in the WDSF Youth A Open, where they advanced from the semifinals with 9 pairs to the final six, earning a bronze medal and a trophy for their outstanding performance.

The achievements of Castigador and Paclibar not only highlight their exceptional talent but also serve as an inspiration to their peers, demonstrating the remarkable potential within the Centralian community.
