Congratulations to Roan Victor R. Lacupa—your inspiring journey of hard work, purpose, and service shines brightly, serving as a true inspiration to the community. CPU is proud of you!
Every big win has a hidden story of hard work, deep belief, and a heart set on helping others. This is the inspiring journey of Roan Victor R. Lacupa, a proud Centralian student who earned a distinct honor as the sole Junior High School awardee of the Ten Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) 2025.
Hailing from the town of Lambunao in the province of Iloilo, he grew up in a simple community where the values of hard work, humility, and gratitude were deeply ingrained. He was granted an opportunity that helped finance his education and allowed him to pursue his academic goals at CPU as a University Entrance Scholar.
“This opportunity has not only opened doors for me but has also deepened my desire to give back and make the most out of every chance given. CPU became more than just a school—it became a place where dreams like mine could take root and grow,” he said.
When asked about his memorable moments in the Centralian community, he particularly enjoyed participating in events such as University Day and Christ Emphasis Week, which have been instrumental in his holistic growth. “I’ve grown not only as a student but as a person, thanks to the vibrant and nurturing environment that CPU offers… These celebrations have been instrumental in our holistic growth—they don’t just focus on academic excellence but also nurture our spiritual, emotional, and social development. Moments like these truly set CPU apart, making it more than just a school—it’s a home where we are molded to become well-rounded individuals.”
He also highlighted that the community has supported him in countless ways throughout his academic and personal growth. It has served as a strong and dependable support system, whether through encouraging mentors, inspiring classmates, or the core values rooted in Scientia et Fides.
“This community played a vital role in my growth and development, constantly challenging me to strive for excellence while remaining grounded in humility and compassion. CPU didn’t just help me reach my goals; it shaped me into someone ready to serve, lead, and make a difference,” he added.
In the recent Honors and Awards program, Lacupa has been recognized as the first-ever completer to reach the highest average in the K-12 curriculum. “It’s an achievement I hold close to my heart, not just because of the recognition, but because of the effort, consistency, and resilience it represents,” he remarked.
Additionally, he served as the youngest board member ever elected in the history of the CPU Republic from 2022 to 2023. He currently holds the position of Gubernatorial Head of the CPUJHS Student Council. He is also the President of the Senior Red Cross Youth of CPU JHS and the Boys and Girls Brigade Philippines—CPU JHS Chapter. Furthermore, he serves as the Vice President of the Debate Club and is a member of the official debate team of CPU JHS.
“Beyond the titles and awards, I see each role as an opportunity to serve, to grow, and to inspire. Every achievement is a reflection of the nurturing environment CPU provides—one that champions academic excellence, leadership, and character formation,” Lacupa highlighted.
When asked what advice he would give to students considering enrolling at CPU, he emphasizes the importance of seizing the opportunity. He describes his journey as life-changing, filled with growth, meaningful experiences, and unforgettable memories. He believes that it is a place where students not only discover their strengths but also their purpose. According to him, it doesn’t just educate the mind; it nurtures the heart and spirit, shaping students into well-rounded individuals grounded in faith, service, and excellence.
“Whether it’s inside the classroom, during campus events, or through simple moments with friends and mentors, CPU becomes a place where dreams are formed, and character is built. I look forward to seeing future students write their own stories here—ones filled with purpose, passion, and impact. Because at CPU, you don’t just study—you grow, lead, and become part of a legacy that goes beyond yourself.”
