Dr. Rumalie Alparaque Corvera, an alumna of Central Philippine University Development High School, was honored with the prestigious Cynthia Goh Award during the 15th Asia Pacific Palliative Care Conference held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, Korea, on October 5, 2023.

Among the distinguished recipients of the Cynthia Goh Award, presented by the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Network, were Dr. Naveen Salins from India, Dr. Neo Han Yee from Singapore, Dr. Sharon Choo from Malaysia, and Dr. Shirlynn Ho, also from Singapore.

Fondly known as Dr. Mae Corvera, she currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ruth Foundation for Palliative and Hospice Care. She is married to Atty. Peter C. Corvera, who holds the position of Chairman on the CPU Board of Trustees.

The goal of the award is to recognize individuals that promote the development of palliative care within their regions or around the world.

The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Network is a regional non-profit organization committed to advancing hospice and palliative care across Asia and the Pacific. Their mission is to empower and support both organizations and individuals dedicated to alleviating suffering caused by life-threatening illnesses.
