The Commission on Appointments (CA) has approved the appointments of 60 Foreign Affairs Officials –including Central Philippine University Alumnus Leo Tito Lunar Ausan Jr. (AB Political Science 1983; Cum Laude).

A former Consul in the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, Ausan was confirmed by the CA on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 as Chief of Mission Class II (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary) to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives.
He was previously designated and posted in various hands-on capacities of responsibility in Foreign Service Posts abroad as Vice Consul in the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa; Consul in the Philippine Embassy in Berlin Germany and Consul-General in the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as Deputy Consul General in the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, Canada.

Ausan is known in his college days as a consistent student leader. He was elected Vice President in the CPU Republic (1982-1983), and President of the Political Science Students Organization (PSSO 1981-1982). He was a speaker, writer and editor – among his other highly regarded proficiencies.
