The Association of Political Science and Public Administration Students-CPU, organize the Good Governance Summit 2024 last February 17, 2024, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

A total of 83 delegates from different organizations and SK Officials in different Barangays in Iloilo Province joined in the said summit. Also, attended on the said event the University President Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, Dr. Daryl Pamocol, Chairperson of Department of Social Sciences of the College of Arts and Science, Prof. Renia F. Dela Peña and Iloilo City Councilor Hon. Sedfrey Cabaluna

On the morning event, two of the resource speakers shared their expertise in the field of government and public service. Mr. Nelson G. Sarmiento, Regional Director of Civil Service Commission Region VI shared about the Roles of Public Servant and the Commission itself while Hon. Adrian S. Camposagrado, SB Member of Municipality of Tigbauan, shared about Good Student Governance.  After the speakers shared their knowledge, the participants asked questions on the open forum.

Meanwhile, Hon. Sedfrey Cabaluna shared the importance and realization of good governance in the younger generations thru a short story. He said, “Good governance is not a job for the leaders alone, good governance is our job not by the governors, but also by the govern. We must work together by that direction.”

On the afternoon session, participants joined on the events like Good Governance Model Congress, Essay Writing, Impromptu Speaking and ARTvocacy Political Caricature Contest.

The summit was organized by Association of Political Science and Public Administration Students – CPU, in partnership with CPU Republic, Samahang Bagong Kabataan, SK Federation of Iloilo City and SK Federation of Province of Iloilo.
