The Central Philippine University (CPU) University Day 2024 is in full swing, showcasing the intellectual prowess of its students through a series of academic competitions. This year’s theme, “The Unyielding Central Spirit: Spurring Centralians to Excellence and Greatness,” resonates throughout the event, emphasizing the commitment to fostering excellence within the CPU community. Held at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park, the event highlighted the students’ knowledge in Bible studies, mathematics, science, and general information.
In the Bible Quiz Bee, the Senior High School (SHS) team emerged victorious, claiming the championship title. The College of Medicine (COM) and College of Theology (COT) secured the 1st and 2nd runner-up positions, respectively, while the College of Nursing (CON) and College of Pharmacy (COP) tied for 3rd runner-up.
The Math Quiz Bee saw the College of Engineering (COE) reign supreme as champions. The SHS team followed as 1st runner-up, followed by the COM. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) secured the 3rd and 4th runner-up positions, respectively.
In the Science Quiz Bee, the COP emerged as champions, followed by the CAS. The SHS team finished as 3rd runner-up, with the COM and COE securing the 4th and 5th runner-up spots, respectively.
The General Information Quiz Bee showcased the impressive knowledge of the Junior High School (JHS) students, who claimed the championship title. The CON secured the 1st runner-up, followed by the COM and COE. The CAS rounded out the competition as 4th runner-up.
As part of the academic events, the Debate competition will conclude on October 11, 2024, at Henry Luce Library III. Students, faculty, and alumni are eagerly anticipating the final round of arguments as teams vie for the championship title.
With the University Day celebrations continuing until October 12, 2024, the CPU community continues to come together, celebrating the university’s rich heritage and the bright minds that uphold its legacy of academic excellence.
